Chapter 7: Dance Class Revolution (part 2)

The boy with a spiky jet black hair whose name was Eli approached Sofia.

"Do you want to be my dance partner?" he asked.

"Sure. Why not?" replied Sofia.

All of a sudden, Nickhun blew a whistle.

"Okay, guys. Time's up!"

"Just in time," said Sofia to Eli as they high fived each other.

"Hey, what gives? It's only been 5 minutes!" complained a boy with platinum blonde hair.

"I know. Like I said, you guys have 10 minutes to get into groups and discuss. 5 minutes to get into groups while another 5 to discuss. So, now it's discussion time," replied Nickhun.

While discussing one group was seen to communicate with sign language. Another group was writing something on papers. Another group was panicking until their hairs got messed up due to the stress. While some just discussed like normal groups would.

"Should we try capoeira?" asked Kevin.

"It's a dance battle! We don't have to try, Kevin. We have to do it," replied Xander.

Nickhun looked at his watch and said, "Time's up. Let's hear what dance that you guys will be doing?"

He pointed towards Kevin and Xander's group. All five of them: Kevin, Soo Hyun, Dong Ho, Ki Seop and Xander looked at each other. They have not picked their dance yet. However, they managed to settle for hip-hop.

Jun Hyung, Hyun Seung, Ji Non and Kan's group chose breakdance while Sun Ye, Yoo Bin, So hee, Yenny and Mimi's group picked belly dance. There were plenty of interesting dance choices such as the Chinese fan dance, Korean traditional dance, African tribal dance, salsa, tap, bellet and rhumba.

When it was Aris and his group mates to decide, they immediately chorused, "Bhangra!!"

Both Jaebeom and Nickhun looked at each other and mouthed out the word 'Banghra'.

Aris sighed and said, "It's an Indian traditional dance."

"Yes, we know that. It's just nobody attempted it before," retorted Nickhun.

Jaebeom clapped his hands gleefully and said, "This is going to be interesting."

Nickhun called "Okay, Sofia. What's your dance genre?"

Eli and Sofia looked at each other. "We haven't picked our dance yet," whispered Eli.

"Yikes!" she replied.

"Come on. We're waiting," teased Taec Yeon.

"Sumazau!!!" Sofia suddenly blurted out.

Nickhun frowned and said, "That's the easiest dance to do."

Eli let a huge sigh of relief. He turned to Sofia and said, "It's easy right?"

"It looks easy," replied Sofia unconfidently.

"You guys have 2 months until the Dance Battle. We will pick the best 4 dance groups to compete in the Annual Aquinas Gathering," said Jaebeom.

"And, you will present about the dance and submit the written work on the same day of the Dance Battle. The written work must not be more than 1500 words," he added.

The others groaned. They did not like the written assignment.

"You guys want to win right?" asked Taec Yeon.

"Yes!" they chorused.

"You want to kick ass at the Dance Battle right?" asked Junsu.

"Yes!" they cried.

"You want Aquinas Dance Squad to be the best in all of Korea right?" asked Chan Sung.

"Yes!" they cried again.

"Then, do the assignment," said Nickhun.

Aris leaned towards Shin Dong and said, "He sure knows how to psycho people."

"Okay, guys. Get up," instructed Nickhun.

Everybody got up. Nickhun and the rest of the committee members went up to the bleachers.

Nickhun looked towards the ADS members and asked, "Do you guys know the Para Para Dance?"

Nickhun could see that the members were jumping and rejoicing at the fact they will be doing the Para-Para Dance.

"Okay. Let's do it!" exclaimed Nickhun. Dong Hae turned on the music using his laptop. Everybody started to dance.

"This is fun," said Sofia.

Both Han Kyung and Eli nodded.

Then, they realized that the music got faster and faster. Everybody had a very hard time following the steps. Some gave up and retired to the bleachers. Others just flailed their hands like they were swatting mosquitoes. Most of them just stood and watch how the committee members executed the dance moves easily.

When the ADS committee members finished their dance, Nickhun turned to them and said, "That's what the best dance squad in all of Korea can do."
